The Senator of the Santa Fe province, Danilo Capitani, presented a law project at the Senate to consider the implementation of electronic voting.

Danilo Capitani stated: “The electoral system would be faster, allow for a greater transparency and also improve the institutional quality in the province of Santa Fe”.

¿How the system would be implemented?

The system consists of an electronic ballot in which voters make their choice. Once the voter has selected an option, “a sample of his vote is displayed in the voting machine. That vote, once confirmed, is printed with a bar code. That receipt passes through an electronic urn that counts the votes and also stores all the paper receipts for later manual auditing and control of the electronic system”, this is how Danilo Capitani explained the process.
