New South Wales farmers will ask the state Government to give voters the option of using electronic voting in the local land services (LLS) elections.
The motion will be presented by Gordon Turner of the Balranald/Oxley district council, who said that the measure would be an efficient and effective way of voting.
Turner stated that last March’s elections was unsatisfactory because it took more than a week for the printed ballots to arrive to each region.
The motion for introducing electronic voting has been well received.
