The Council of Bogotá is the authority which exerts political control of the District Administration and issues norms to promote the integral development of the city and its citizens. With the goal of making their management more efficient, electronic voting will be implemented to speed up the development and advancement of their sessions.
President of Bogotá Council Darío Fernando Cepeda has explained that the goal was proposed of positioning the Council as a dynamic, reliable entity that manages the integral development of the city and its inhabitants.
Besides, Cepeda pointed out that “it becomes necessary to include some modifications to the current internal rules about voting, adjusting them to the regulations that ordain the inclusion of electronic registration system and voting as more efficient and agile mechanisms for the development and advancement of their sessions”.
