On Friday, November 22, approximately 467 Ecuadoran children at the Francisco José de Caldas Teaching Unit participated in a student government election for next year.
The election took place using an in-person electronic voting system that was customized to enable the children to vote using a system of colors.
Voting lasted throughout the entire morning. Immediately after, the center’s director had the results available. This type of experiment serves to show young people the value of democracy and the newest technologies in electronic voting.
