Mohammad Hossein Moqimi, Chief of elections for Iran’s Interior Ministry has recently informed that the Guardian Council will soon announce its conclusions on a e-voting software which would allow the implementation of electronic voting throughout the country.

According to Moqimi, the e-voting hardware has already received the Guardian Council’s confirmation, thus the government has prepared the fund to finance this new voting system. Initially e-voting would be used by one third of the electoral districts.

Likewise, the secretary of the elections headquarters, Ali Pourali Motlaq, said that at least 30% of the voters will cast their votes electronically.
