In 2015, we contributed to strengthen democracy in Latin America, offering our technology and services to modernise elections in Argentina, Chile and Mexico.
The 5 of July Smartmatic conducted our first major election project in Argentina. The electronic voting solution implemented in the cities of La Falda and Marcos Juarez, delivered official results only 45 minutes after polls closed.
We helped citizens from the Buin commune in Chile to move towards a more participatory model of democracy during the seventh edition of the “I opine” citizen initiative. For the first time ever, electronic voting was used in this country.
Smartmatic also successfully assisted authorities in the Mexican states of Chiapas, Campeche and Tabasco, where we helped election authorities to streamline preliminary results during the local elections.
