It is thought that by 2017 Ecuador will implement electronic voting in all its polling stations. The National Electoral Council (CNE) therefore decided to set up some electronic voting polling stations for the upcoming 2013 elections.
Cuenta, Portoviejo, Quito and Guayaquil were the selected cities for this electronic vote experiment which will serve as practice for the 2017 elections.
