The Scottish National Party (SNP), which is the third largest party in the UK House of Commons, made an urgent call for the implementation of electronic voting.
SNP Deputy Hannah Bartell said that the “time wasted managing the request would be much better spent representing their voters and tackling the issues that impact on their lives.”
Electronic voting is currently used by representatives of UK Parliaments in Wales and Scotland.
Ms. Bardell argued that the reluctance of the House of Common’s to modernize election procedures places the parliament far from the people. She advocated for the creation of a modern parliament according to modern standards.
