The fast evolution of technology has led to a change in mentality. Young people are the ones who are most easily adapting to the innovations that constantly arrive into the market.
New generations are more open to include technology into different aspects of their lives; this also reflects in the implementation of electronic voting in educational areas. College students recognize that electronic voting represents a great advantage in terms of security, reliability and speed.
One example to illustrate this is the meeting of the Cyber Defense Conference that took place at Johns Hopkins University this past April, in an effort to promote awareness of cybersecurity. During this conference, students tested out their ability and knowledge in defending a fictitious electronic voting system from cyber attacks.
