The director of Peru’s National Election Commission, Mariano Cucho, has told the media that electronic voting will be used in ten of the capital city’s districts in the October 2014 municipal and regional elections.
He added that manual voting would not be necessary in these ten districts.
According to Cucho, the citizens place a lot of trust in the electronic voting system. Political party heads, on the other hand, still view the method “with distrust and suspicion”.
