National Democratic PartyThe National Democratic Party (NDP) of Ghana manifested its support to the proposal of the Electoral Commission (EC) to adopt electronic voting in the 2016 parliamentary and presidential elections. According to the NDP, this would greatly contribute to maintain peace and transparency throughout the election.

The NDP has suggested the government to ask for support from other countries where electronic voting has been successfully implemented. According to the Party, electronic voting would prevent over-voting, multiple voting, and electoral fraud, improving the overall transparency of the election system.

The NDP also supported the call for a new electronic voter register and the use of biometric technology to authenticate voters in next year’s elections.
