Smartmatic, the world’s leading voting technology and services provider, offered a fully-verifiable electronic voting solution in Bulgaria for the European Union parliamentary elections. The citizens of Sofia, as well as other three Bulgarian cities, had the option to use the Smartmatic electronic voting system.
The technological voting platform deployed by Smartmatic included touchscreen voting machines coordinated by powerful software applications.
Bulgarians benefited from having access to a completely automated and unified solution that included vote casting, counting, and transmission. It is also important to highlight that Smartmatic, along with the electoral authorities and political parties of Bulgaria, carried out a series of audits to validate the proper functioning of the platform.
