Members of the committee advising the Colombian Government on the implementation of automated voting analyzed a document with the answers to the questionnaire on electronic voting systems handed out to the bidding companies on May 16th.
The document covered the different voting systems available by analyzing key aspects such as vote secrecy, the possibility of multiple voting or vote editing, whether or not the jury can check the results as elections progress, or the system’s need for internet connectivity.
Other IT aspects analyzed were the advantages and disadvantages of the electronic ballots and voting systems, the company’s experience in organizing electoral sessions, the potential risks of each system and how to mitigate them.
