The 39.018 voting machines to be used on October 7th, during the Presidential elections in Venezuela, are now ready for Election Day.
Reports from the CNE (the National Electoral Council of Venezuela) indicate that the entire production of all voting machines has been completed. In total, the electoral authorities carried out seventeen audits during the months preceding the elections. Such high level of auditability is one the distinguishing characteristics of the advanced Venezuelan voting platform.
Another important benefit of this system is the flexibility it grants to electoral authorities in election administration. For example, in the recent days, different political parties and presidential candidates have declined their options and proceeded to support other candidates. These last-minute changes were arranged without causing any major inconvenience to the Venezuelan electoral platform.
