President of Brazil´s TRE (Regional Electoral Court) Rui Ramos is in talks with TSE (Superior Electoral Court) to implement biometric urns in the state of Mato Grosso for the upcoming 2014 elections.

The president has said that the expenditures associated with the implantation of this system are high, but he emphasized that it is a necessary investment. “Biometry is a costly process, but society needs honesty; that is essential.”

In this regard, the Electoral Court has already presented a bill to president of TSE Carmen Lucia, asking for the expansion of the biometric urns for 2014.
