Three Smartmatic representatives played a central role in the first edition of the Strategic Electoral Management Training Program, co-hosted by Transparencia Electoral and Florida International University (FIU) in Miami on August 7–8, 2025.
The delegation included Andrés Rómbola, President for Smartmatic Latin America, along with Communications team members Samira Saba and Ernesto Parisca. Rómbola delivered a presentation on how technology can modernize electoral processes and enhance institutional transparency. Saba and Parisca led a session on the strategic use of social media before, during, and after elections to strengthen public trust and encourage informed participation.
The intensive two-day program brought together nearly 60 electoral authorities, officials, and experts from 12 Latin American countries to address urgent challenges such as disinformation, the role of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data protection, and electoral communication strategies.
Sharing the stage with prominent figures—including Gerardo de Icaza, Director of the Department for Electoral Cooperation and Observation (DECO) at the OAS; social media and disinformation specialist Eugenio Martínez; and Latin American politics expert Eduardo A. Gamarra—Smartmatic contributed to a robust exchange of strategies and solutions.
By participating in this high-level forum, Smartmatic reinforced its position as a trusted partner in the electoral sector, offering practical, experience-based insights to address emerging threats and promote integrity in elections worldwide.
