The website analitica.com published a research paper highlighting some of the electronic voting trends happening in Latin America. This year, several countries of the region have opted to conduct pilot tests in view of the possible automation of their own elections.

In October, Venezuela will become the first country in the world to use automation in all stages of the electoral process. With the implementation of SAI (Integrated Authentication System), the voters will be able to validate their identity through biometric means before exercising their right to vote, thus avoiding identity theft and protecting the principle one voter=one vote.
