He made such comments during the fourth anniversary celebration of NigeriaSat-2 and NigeriaSat-X organized by the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) in Abuja.

According to Samuel, the satellite could facilitate communications during the election to help monitor the progress of logistics remotely and in real-time. Also, satellite communications could help a big role making available the information nationwide.

Currently the NIgComSat-1R satellite has effective signal coverage in all Nigeria and the West Africa sub-region.

The Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Communications of Nigeria, Mrs. Winifred Ita-Ewa, stated that space technology is increasingly being used by many nations around the world, leading to considerable economic growth and social-economic well being.
